What is happening in you country now? The country has been normalized by the Russian government, ending the Russian counter-terrorist campaign. Right now Chechnya is currently a federal republic.
Who is in charge of the government Now? Have there been recent elections? President Ramzan Kadyrov is the current leader of Chechnya. There were no recent elections.
Will there be elections? There is no news for the next elections.
What key challenges does the country face today, or will it face in the near future? The Islamist militants are currently fighting the Russian Government, (the Sochi Olympics almost being called off is an example) which could be leading to problems with Chechnya as a terrorist center once more.
How would you characterize what has happened in your country? Would you call it a revolution? Why or Why not? Chechnya had indeed gone through a revolution. It had became an independent country, separating itself from Russia. Since Russia did not want them to separate, Russia had launched a campaign to get it back. This signified the fight as a revolution for independence.
